A bunch of South Burnett residents will be enjoying
a slightly more nutty Christmas, thanks to
the generosity of a local business.
Plenty Foods has donated 600 jars of peanut butter to the Queensland Police Service’s Food Bank appeal on Tuesday. The 375g jars will be distributed by South Burnett CTC’s Youth and Family Services division. The peanut butter was manufactured in Kingaroy at Proteco’s plant from local peanuts supplied by Crumptons.
The donation caps off a three-week campaign by local police to support disadvantaged South Burnett families at Christmas. Donations of non-perishable food and household items were left at South Burnett police stations as well as at the Bill Hull Car Centre in Kingaroy. Donations left at the Kingaroy police station were also loaded into the back of a trayback ute on Tuesday for distribution.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said several generous cash donations had also been dropped into Kingaroy. These will be converted into vouchers for distribution in the South Burnett.
